Daredevil'i izlediyseniz, Electra kum torbalarını lime lime ederken çalan parçayı mutlaka hatırlıyorsunuzdur. Parçanın ismi "Bring Me To Life"ve grubun ismi Evanescence. İlgiyi kesinlikle hak ediyorlar. Evanescence 'duman gibi yok olmak' anlamına geliyor. Vokalde Amy Lee, gitarlarda Ben Moody'den oluşan grup ilk albümü "Fallen"'ı yayınladı. Peki o gerçekten ilk albümleri miydi? "Nasıl yani?" konusuna az sonra geçeceğiz. Arkansaslı grup, Amy'nin inanılmaz sesi ile diğer nu-metal gruplarından ayrılıyor. Amy'ye göre grubun sırrı müziklerinin epik, dramatik ve karanlık olması. Belki de Amy'nin ta kendisi. Grubu kuran Amy ve Ben, çocukken yaz kampında tanışmışlar. Amy piyanoyla Meat Loaf'ın "I'd Do Anything For Love"ını çalarak oyalanıyormuş, Meat Loaf hayranı olan Ben hemen gidip tanışmış ve grup kurmaya o gün karar vermişler. Kendi çabaları ile yayınladıkları, cd yazıcı ile çoğalttıkları ilk EP'leri ile yerel olarak oldukça tanınmışlar. O albümü bugün 'komik' olarak nitelendiriyorlar. Arkasından ikinci EP "Whisper" ve 2000 yılında ilk albüm "Origin" gelmiş. Ancak kendilerine özel bir sebepten dolayı, bu albümü hiç yayınlanmamış saymak istiyorlarmış. Bu sebeple Amazon gibi yayınlarda ve resmi sitelerinde "Fallen", ilk albüm olarak görünmektedir. Ancak entrikalar bununla bitmiyor. Grubun 600.000 satıp Billboard ilk 10'a giren albümü; Christian-Rock kitlesi tarafından çok sevilip başarı grafiği hızla yükselince, bu kitleye hitap eden müzik marketlerden toplatılmış. Amerika'da Hristiyan Rock şeklinde bir olgu var. Dini temalar içeren gruplar yoğun ilgi topluyor. Sadece bu türe endekslenmiş plak dükkanları, radyolar ve festivaller var, ancak grup üyeleri kendilerini sadece gotik olarak adlandırmayı arzu etmedikleri gibi yalnız bu kitle için müzik yapıyor durumuna da gelmek istemiyorlar. Bu şarkı için yapılan "duygusal rollercoaster" yakıştırması gerçekten oldukça yerinde bir tabir. Albüm, bu şarkının dışında "Tourniquet", "Haunted", "Whisper" gibi çok güçlü şarkılar içeriyor. Hepsinin ortak noktası da aşk ve çaresizlik hakkında karanlık şarkılar olmaları. Evanescence, piyasadaki diğer nu-metal ya da goth gruplarından çok daha farklı: "Öfke dolu gençlerin hazırladıkları, önceden paketlenerek satışa sunulmuşgibi duran çok fazla albüm var piyasada. Evanescence grubunun kendilerininde belirttikleri ilk albümleri 'Fallen'den sonra grubun esas adamı Ben Moody gruptan ayrılmaya karar verir.Amy,Ben'in bu kararına saygı duyup ayrılmaya itiraz etmez.Ayrılma nedenleri tam bilinmemekle beraber Ben Moody verdiği röpartajlarda Amy'i hala çok sevdiğini(eski grup arkadaşı olarak),aralarında gerginlik olmadığını belirtmiştir.. Ayrılmadan sonra Moody'siz ilk çalışma gelmiştir sonunda; Open Door! Yeni albüm hatırı sayılır hayran kitlesini sevindirip, beklentileri karşılayan bir albüm olmuştur. Moody'nin ayrılışıyla müzikal kaygı yaşayan grubun bazı hayranları yeni albümdeki başarıyla kendilerine gelmişlerdir. Yeni albüm "The Open Door"un ilk klibi "Call Me When You're Sober" şarkısına çekilmiştir. Şarkı ilk dinlendiğinde pek beğenilmemesine rağmen, klip daha ilk andan kendini beğendirmiştir. İkinci klip ise yine en az Amy Lee kadar güzel olan "Lithium" şarkısına gelmiştir. |
