Francis George Steiner, (d. 23 Nisan 1929, Paris), Fransız asıllı ABD'li edebiyat eleştirmeni, filozof, roman yazarı, çevirmen ve eğitmen.

1974 - 1994 yılları arasında Cenevre Üniversitesi'nde İngilizce ve Karşılaştırmalı Edebiyat profesörü olarak çalışan Stein, 1994-1995'te Oxford Üniversitesi'nde aynı görevde bulundu. 2001-2002 yıllarında ise Harvard Üniversitesi'nde şiir sanatı profesörlüğü yaptı.

Steiner şu anda Cambridge'de yaşıyor. Yazar ve tarihçi Zara Shakow Steiner ile evli olan eleştirmenin David ve Deborah adında iki çocuğu var.
