Birinci vazifen, Türk istiklalini, Türk Cumhuriyetini, ilelebet, muhafaza ve müdafaa etmektir.
Mevcudiyetinin ve istikbalinin yegane temeli budur. Bu temel, senin, en kıymetli hazinendir. İstikbalde dahi, seni, bu hazineden mahrum etmek isteyecek, dahili ve harici, bedhahlarin olacaktır. Bir gün, istiklal ve cumhuriyetini müdafaa mecburiyetine düsersen, vazifeye atılmak için, içinde bulunacağın vaziyetin imkan ve seraitini düsünmeyeceksin! Bu imkan ve serait, çok namüsait bir mahiyette tezahür edebilir. İstiklal ve cumhuriyetine kastedecek düsmanlar, bütün dünyada emsali gorülmemis bir galibiyetin mümessili olabilirler.
Cebren ve hile ile aziz vatanın bütün kaleleri zaptedilmis, bütün tersanelerine girilmis, bütün ordulari dağıtılmış ve memleketin her kösesi bilfiil isgal edilmis olabilir.
Bütün bu seraitten daha elim ve daha vahim olmak üzere, memleketin dahilinde iktidara sahip olanlar gaflet ve dalalet ve hatta hıyanet içinde bulunabilirler. Hatta bu iktidar sahipleri sahsi menfaatlerini, müstevlilerin siyasi emelleriyle tevhit edebilirler.
Millet, fakr-ü zaruret içinde harap ve bitap düsmüs olabilir.
Ey Türk istikbalinin evladı! İste, bu ahval ve serait içinde dahi, vazifen, Türk istiklal ve Cumhuriyetini kurtarmaktır! Muhtaç oldugun kudret, damarlarındaki asil kanda mevcuttur.
Turkish Youth!
Your first duty is forever, to prevent and to preserve the Turkish Independence and the Turkish Republic.
This is the unique foundation of your existence and your future. This foundation is your most precious treasure.
Also in the future, there will be malevolent people who wish to deprive you of your treasure. One day, if you feel obliged to defend your independence and your republic, you must not consider the possibilities and the circumtances of the situation before taking up the duty. These possibilities and circumtances extremely may appear unconveniently. The enemies who shall be in conspiracy to your independence and republic, may be the parts of such kind of a victory that, similar of which has been unprecedented in the annals of the world.
By violance and tricks, all the fortresses of your beloved motherland may be captured, all its shipyards may be occupied, all its armies may be dispersed, and any parts of your country may be occupied.
Rather tragic and gravious than these circumtances, it may be that, those, governing the country, may be in error, misguided and may even be in treachery. Furthermore; they may amalgamate their personal benefits with the political aims of the invaders.
Nation, within impoverishment, might have become ruined and exhausted.
Youth of Turkiye's future! Even in such affairs and circumtances, your duty; is to prevent the Turkish independence and the republic.
